In 4 years, 301 new species are found in the Amazon

Plecturocebus grovesi da Amazônia

Frequently a new rabbit comes out of the Amazon’s hat. Or monkey: the one on the photo was named Plecturocebus grovesi and is just one example of the 301 new species discovered in the region in the last 4 years. Almost a new version of Noah’s Ark: spiders (141), reptiles (14), mammals 3), plants (58) and amphibians (18) that we had never heard of. Unfortunately, it is possible that many unknown animals and plants will never be seen, because the destruction of the forest can lead to extinction before they are discovered. It is necessary to protect this treasure of hidden biodiversity.
